The ReMatch program, developed and led by the Office of Undergraduate Research and the Graduate School, pairs first- and second-year undergraduates with graduate student and postdoc researcher mentors. This student-led initiative also provides an opportunity for students who initially did not secure a spot on a varsity team to join intercollegiate sports teams, enhancing their college sports experience and fostering community, physical fitness, and teamwork.
Mentor and mentee pairs who develop through the program may embark on a summer of research in Princeton, fully funded by the university. The ReMatch dinners, held at the Carl Fields Center, feature mentors from various fields, including politics, philosophy, and musicology. Students can eat catered food, mingle, and chat with researchers at these events.
Maxwell Lin ('26) found the ReMatch dinners a great way to connect with mentors, giving him the confidence to start cold emailing professors. First-year and second-year students can participate in ReMatch this fall. The mentors at these events are very approachable and excited to share what they are passionate about.
