Career Mentoring Project in Zierenberg Sees Record Participation
A career mentoring project in Zierenberg has seen record participation this year, with nearly 400 young people benefiting from its services. The project, funded by the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration, has been supporting young people in preparing for job interviews for almost 15 years in cooperation with local schools.
Coordinated by Brigitte Vogler, who can be reached at 0561 1003−1275 or [email protected], the project offers individual support to young people in their search for apprenticeship positions. This includes 'tandems on time', where mentors provide guidance and feedback on application documents and personal appearance. Recently, a 'Fit for Job Interviews' training was held at the Elisabeth-Selbert School in Zierenberg, involving 10 volunteer career mentors and 64 students. The mentors, who enjoy their commitment and are well-prepared through regular further training and reflection discussions, helped students practice presenting themselves confidently and persuasively in real interview scenarios. Participants appreciated the project, with one student commenting, 'It's good to know how something like this works, and I now know what I can improve.'
The career mentoring project in Zierenberg continues to grow in popularity, with a record number of young people benefiting from its services this year. The project's success is a testament to the dedication of its volunteers and the positive impact it has on young people's career prospects.
