The exam is approaching. Here's what you need to know about this year's philosophy topics for the final year high school students. Although the specific topics were revealed by the Ministry of National Education on June 16, students had until noon to submit their work.

If you're taking the general route, you have two essay options: "Does our future depend on technology?" or "Is truth always persuasive?" You can also opt for explaining a text from John Rawls' A Theory of Justice. For the technological route, you can choose between "Are we free in all circumstances?", "Do we need art?", or an explanation of an excerpt from The Theory of Moral Sentiments by Adam Smith.

The philosophy test, worth 8 points for the general stream and 4 for the technological stream, will take place on June 16-18. On July 4, you can find all the results on our site.fr. Keep in mind that there are 387,244 students for the general route and 146,396 for the technological route, according to the Ministry of National Education.

After the philosophy test, you'll face the specialty exams between June 23 and July 2. The grand oral will follow between July 2 and July 4. Finally, on July 4, you'll learn the names of the 2025 bachelors.

Philosophy Curriculum Overview

For the general route, the philosophy curriculum is organized around three main domains: The Subject (Le Sujet), Culture (La Culture), and Reason and Reality (La Raison et le Réel). These topics are explored through classical philosophical texts and key philosophical questions relevant to modern society.

For the technological route, the curriculum is more tailored and includes The Subject (Le Sujet), Culture (La Culture), and Reason and Reality (La Raison et le Réel). The technological route tends to focus more on practical and applied philosophical questions, with less emphasis on abstract theory compared to the general route.

Now, buckle up and get ready for your exam! Philosophy is just the beginning of a marathon for final year high school students. Good luck!

In the French education-and-self-development curriculum, the general route of philosophy emphasizes three main domains: The Subject (Le Sujet), Culture (La Culture), and Reason and Reality (La Raison et le Réel), which are explored through learning from classical philosophical texts and discussing key philosophical questions relevant to modern society.

The technological route of the philosophy curriculum, tailored for the technology-focused students, also includes these three domains, yet places more emphasis on practical and applied philosophical questions with a reduced emphasis on abstract theory, offering a unique learning experience.
