Campus parking developments set for Autumn 2025 unveiled
Expanded Parking Options and Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Coming to Oberlin College
Oberlin College is set to provide more details about its expanded parking options for the upcoming fall semester. The changes include the addition of three new parking lots, offering over 300 new parking spaces for students, employees, and visitors.
One of the new lots, located on Lorain Street, is north of the Mudd Center, between Wilder Hall and the Service Building. This lot will offer electric vehicle charging stations, in addition to spaces for short-term parking, Wilder Hall loading and unloading, and for residents of the adjacent student houses on Lorain Street. For faculty and staff, approximately 20 new spaces are anticipated in the Lorain Street lot.
Another new parking lot, with 226 spaces, is available at Woodland Hall for students. The Woodland Hall lot will also feature two new Level II EV charging stations for use by students, faculty, and staff. The new Woodland Street lot is located at the new Woodland Hall student residence.
The North Professor Street lot, adjacent to the softball field, has 70 spaces for students, faculty, and staff. For faculty and staff, 45 new parking spaces are available at the south end of the Woodland Hall lot, across from the Science Center.
The completion of several major construction projects has made these new campus parking options possible. Notably, the Lorain Street lot replaces the temporary lot used by construction vehicles associated with Oberlin's Sustainable Infrastructure Program, which has played a crucial role in making the campus carbon neutral.
For those interested in parking-related information, contacting campus.safety@our website is recommended. A new crosswalk will be added to Lorain Street immediately north of Wilder Hall for safe pedestrian travel. The new parking arrangements do not specify the number of spaces for electric vehicles in the North Professor Street lot.
For more details about parking, such as permit purchase deadlines, prices, or detailed lot maps, visiting each campus's official website is advisable. Only Oberlin College has explicitly reported new EV charging station expansions for fall 2025, installing two Level II chargers at the Woodland Hall lot for all user groups.
Education and self-development at Oberlin College will continue to thrive, as the institution expands its infrastructure to cater to the needs of students, employees, and visitors. Notably, the addition of electric vehicle charging stations in the new lots located on Lorain Street and Woodland Hall is evidence of Oberlin College's dedication to sustainability and self-development, promoting environmentally-friendly transportation options for its community members.
