Bochum commemorates multiculturalism through Intercultural Week 2025, hosting over 30 events to celebrate various cultures.
The city of Bochum is gearing up for the Intercultural Week, an exciting event filled with culture, encounters, and exchange. This national celebration, taking place from September 19 to October 2, 2025, aims to promote openness and solidarity under the motto "DAFÜR!".
Organized by the city of Bochum, religious communities, migrant organizations, and clubs and initiatives, the Intercultural Week offers a variety of activities for all age groups. One of the highlights of the week is World Children's Day, which will be celebrated in Wattenscheid.
Throughout the week, local libraries will host Manga workshops, providing an opportunity for participants to learn about this popular Japanese art form. The Central Library will also host an International Family Afternoon & Japan Day on September 24, offering a taste of Japanese culture.
An intercultural breakfast is scheduled for September 24 at Bergstraße 224, giving attendees a chance to connect and share their experiences. Additionally, an exhibition called "Gurbet" will be on display at the Senior Center East during the Intercultural Week.
