Belarus' 'We are Belarusians' Project Leads Sixth School Day Contest
The final stage of the IX Republican contest for the best project on organizing the sixth school day is underway. This contest aims to enhance the organization of work in general and additional education institutions during this special day. Among the projects presented, Christina Primakova-Pinchuk's 'We are Belarusians' stands out, covering five diverse directions.
Primakova-Pinchuk's project, 'We are Belarusians', explores themes of family interaction, the Great Patriotic War, excursions, city tours, and Belarusian cultural traditions. The contest, which began with 21 creative projects from each region, will see the strongest projects compete, with the goal of implementing innovations and solving pedagogical tasks. One notable project, Zinaida Sholomitskaya's 'Quest-Excursion: Travel Around Belarus - Educate a Patriot', focuses on organizing quest-excursions and trips, involving parents and public organizations. This project is under close scrutiny by the Ministry of Education, opening new opportunities for parent-teacher communication and joint children's leisure.
Another project, 'Wir sind Belarusier' (We are Belarusians), developed by the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War, has been presented in museums, schools, and cultural institutions since the early 2000s. It aims to foster a patriotic historical narrative focused on national identity and state sovereignty.
The contest will conclude on November 15 and 16, followed by a roundtable discussion on 'Current Aspects of Improving the Organizational and Content Filling of the Sixth School Day'. The strongest projects from this contest are expected to bring innovative solutions and improvements to the organization of the sixth school day.
