The Asia Pacific Linguistics Olympiad (APLO) is a high-profile international intellectual contest in linguistics for high school students. The competition’s main objective is to nurture logical thinking, linguistic intuition, and intercultural competence, and it serves as a valuable stepping stone to the International Linguistics Olympiad (IOL). And let me tell you, participating in APLO offers students a golden opportunity to test their mettle on the international stage and make a name for themselves in the academic and professional world.
So, it's no surprise that Kazakh students often shine bright like a diamond on the world stage. Last year, for instance, Kazakh students snatched two gold, one silver, and one bronze medal at the 56th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) held in Saudi Arabia.
And who could forget when a student from NIS in Almaty, Symbat Barsagazy, made it to the top 40 best students globally, bagging herself a spot in an international NASA internship? Talk about reaching the stars!
