In a gallant attempt to boost Delhi's vocational education, the Department of Training and Technical Education (DTTE), Government of NCT of Delhi, has recently renewed a pact with Quest Alliance, a non-profit organization. This joint initiative, in conjunction with the Future Right Skills Network (FRSN), a national project driven by Quest Alliance and financed by Accenture, Cisco, JPMorganChase, and SAP, aims to transform 19 ITIs in Delhi over the next three years, shaping the youth with the skills needed to thrive in evolving job markets.
The Grand Exchange of MoU, spearheaded by Hon'ble Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Cabinet Ministers Ravinder Indera, Kapil Mishra, and Education Minister Ashish Sood, featured esteemed attendees like Ms. Nandini Paliwal, Secretary DTTE, and Shri Kumar Abhishek, Director DTTE. The agreement serves to arm ITI students with the necessary skills and mindsets to excel in a swiftly changing job landscape.
Since 2017, Quest Alliance and DTTE have collaborated to build career ambitions in young women, leveraging the Future Skills for Thriving Careers (FSTC) method - a revolutionary program designed to challenge traditional gender norms, foster job preparedness, and empower meaningful transitions from college to employment. The growth of this initiative now extends to male students in co-ed institutes, with an unwavering commitment to fostering inclusive, modern ITIs.
Hon'ble Chief Minister Rekha Gupta declared, "Skilling Delhi's youth is an utmost priority for our administration since its inception. In our inaugural 100 days, we have underscored the significance of strengthening the ITI ecosystem and ensuring that both male and female youth have equitable access to future-ready education and career opportunities."
The magnified partnership seeks to make ITIs responsive to industry demands, emphasize industry engagements, and prioritize future skills that necessitate the capacity and mindset development of key stakeholders. This shift will be facilitated through rigorous capacity-building of principals, trainers, and placement officers and the construction of robust, career readiness ecosystems within ITIs. The blended learning model, comprising QuestApp, face-to-face workshops, and immersive on-the-job exposure, will infuse practical relevance into classrooms, fostering adaptability and continuous learning.
Ms. Nandini Paliwal, Secretary of DTTE, affirmed, "Through co-creating interventions with the government, Quest Alliance stands as a vital ally that fosters harmony between ITIs, learners, their families, and industry. Their sustained focus on parent and industry engagement guarantees that learners can make well-informed career choices."
Nikita Bengani, Director of Youth Programs at Quest Alliance, hailed the successful partnership, stating, "Our collaboration with young women in Delhi has been truly rewarding, yielding enlightening insights. We've observed marked improvements in work transition rates and a rise in women pursuing non-traditional careers. As the job market evolves - shaped by automation, climate change, and emerging technologies - young people must not only develop technical skills, but also the ability to adapt and lead. They should seize the driver's seat in shaping their own futures. This necessitates making learning more student-centric and student-led, and instilling the same mindset in educators and facilitators. Our approach prioritizes fair access and empowers all stakeholders to thrive in a rapidly changing world."
This partnership marks a seminal moment in championing inclusive, industry-aligned, and future-focused education across Delhi's ITIs.
