Agricultural Research Collaboration: IUBAT and Krishi Gobeshona Foundation Sign Agreement for Enhancement
On the 8th of July, 2025, the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) and the Krishi Gobeshona Foundation (KGF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the IUBAT Conference Hall. The agreement was signed by Prof Dr Abdur Rab, Vice Chancellor of IUBAT, and Dr Nathu Ram Sarker, Executive Director of KGF.
The collaboration between these two institutions is aimed at bolstering agricultural research, with a focus on strengthening collaboration, facilitating academic exchanges, and promoting technology dissemination. The partnership also seeks to contribute to sustainable development in Bangladesh and support capacity-building initiatives for the agricultural sector.
Dr Nathu Ram Sarker, Executive Director of KGF, stated that the partnership will provide opportunities for IUBAT faculty to apply for research grants offered by KGF, thereby advancing agricultural development. Dr Abdur Rab, Vice Chancellor of IUBAT, emphasized the importance of joint research and innovation for achieving national food security, climate resilience, and Sustainable Development Goals.
The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials, faculty members, and researchers from both institutions. Among the attendees were Dr Md Monowar Karim Khan and other senior officials from KGF, as well as Prof Dr Md Shohidullah Miah, Prof Dr A J M Sirajul Karim, Prof Dr Sajal Saha, and Dr Mohammad Rezaul Karim from IUBAT.
The collaboration is expected to facilitate joint research projects, with the ultimate goal of fostering innovation in the field of agricultural research. This strategic alliance is designed to leverage the strengths of IUBAT as an academic and research institution and KGF as a foundation dedicated to agricultural research, with the aim of addressing challenges in the agricultural sector and driving sustainable development in Bangladesh.
